Ceramic Series 12 is Pricier to Repair Than Apple Watch Ultra 4
Apple has reintroduced a ceramic case option for the Apple Watch Series 12, but out-of-warranty repairs are significantly expensive. A general repair for "other damage" to the ceramic Series 12 costs $599, while a battery replacement is $99. This ceramic repair cost exceeds that of the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which is $549, and even the cellular aluminum Series 12 at $349. The ceramic Apple Watch Series 12 models start at $899, while the Apple Watch Ultra 2 begins at $799. With AppleCare+, a service fee of $69 applies for damage to the ceramic Series 12, and $79 for the Ultra 2. Battery service is free under AppleCare+ if battery capacity drops below 80 percent, with a $119 deductible for theft or loss. Monthly AppleCare+ for the Series 12 is $4.99 and $5.99 for the Ultra 2. Apple also offers AppleCare One at $19.99 per month for up to three devices. New to September 14th is AppleCare One Family at $49.99 per month, covering up to six family members. The high repair costs highlight the value of purchasing AppleCare+ for these premium models.
