Birdbuddy has announced two new smart bird feeders, the Birdbuddy 2 and the Birdbuddy 2 Mini. The Birdbuddy 2, priced at $199, offers 2K HDR video, a wider field of view, dual solar power, improved audio, and increased seed capacity. It features a versatile camera housing allowing portrait or landscape mounting and slow-motion recording. A new microphone enables birdsong recording and identification, contributing to species recognition. The Birdbuddy 2 is scheduled for a February 2026 launch, with pre-orders already sold out. The Birdbuddy 2 Mini, costing $129, shares core camera technology but has a simpler design suitable for new users or smaller spaces. It has less seed capacity but includes an easy-refill roof, with a solar panel as an optional extra. The Mini is expected to be available for order mid-2026, launching later that year. Birdbuddy is also showcasing the Petal Smart Nature Camera, designed for identifying birds and insects outdoors. The Petal cameras are slated to begin shipping this summer. Further details can be found on the Birdbuddy website.
