ChatGPT for macOS can now directly edit Xcode projects

ChatGPT on macOS has received an update that allows it to edit code directly within integrated development environments (IDEs), eliminating the need for copying and pasting. The supported IDEs include Xcode, Visual Code Studio, Android Studio, and PyCharm, among others. This feature has been highly requested by macOS users since the release of the "works with app" framework in November. The integration is currently available to Plus, Pro, and Team subscribers, while Enterprise, Edu, and Free users will have access to it next week. This update comes as "vibecoding" gains popularity, a form of coding that involves using AI tools like ChatGPT to program apps and games. Vibecoding is a real trend, with a quarter of Y Combinator's W25 cohort having a code base that is 95% generated by AI. Industry experts believe that vibecoding is the future of coding and that those who don't adapt may be left behind. The update is expected to make ChatGPT more useful for coding on macOS. OpenAI has announced the integration on Twitter, showcasing the feature's capabilities. The company's goal is to make coding more efficient and accessible with the help of AI tools.
