Noetix Robotics, a Beijing startup, is offering a consumer-focused humanoid robot called Bumi for around $1,400. The affordable Bumi stands three feet tall and weighs approximately 26 pounds. Its intended purpose is for educational and creative uses rather than industrial applications. Early demonstrations showcase the robot walking and dancing, with a programming interface planned for tasks. Noetix is already preparing to take preorders later in the year, expanding on robot experience. Noetix previously competed in a robot half-marathon with its N2 model, proving its engineering capabilities. Bumi significantly undercuts the price of Unitree's R1 robot, which costs $5,900. Both Bumi and R1 are considerably cheaper than Tesla's Optimus, which initially had a $20,000 price estimate. This makes Bumi a competitively priced and accessible entry into the humanoid robot market. Noetix Robotics is aiming to bring robotics to a broader audience.
