Claude Code Can Now Build and Test iOS Apps in Apple's Simulator
Anthropic has updated Claude Code for desktop to integrate with the iOS Simulator, now available in public beta. This integration allows Claude Code to open and interact with in-progress applications within the iOS Simulator pane. Claude can observe the simulator live, interact with it, and iteratively refine a project. Developers can continue their work while Claude operates the simulator. The pane in Claude Code directly controls the simulator, eliminating the need for typical computer use and allowing Claude to manage the screen as a human would. This direct access removes the necessity for macOS Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions. Screenshots taken by Claude of the iOS Simulator are sent to Anthropic and retained according to standard conversation settings. Anthropic advises users against signing into real accounts on devices Claude uses for security.iOS Simulator integration is exclusively available on Claude Code Desktop for macOS. Xcode with the iOS platform must be installed for this feature to work. The simulator pane functions only in local sessions. Detailed instructions for using the iOS Simulator with Claude Code are provided on Anthropic's website.
