Control Workspace Business and Enterprise users’ access to new Google Workspace with Gemini features before general availability

Google Workspace Business and Enterprise admins can now enable alpha access to Gemini AI features for their users. This provides early access to new features and allows for user feedback. Access can be enabled for all users or specific organizational units. The admin console controls this setting under Generative AI > Gemini for Workspace > Alpha features. Data protection remains robust, but features are experimental and subject to change or removal without notice. Gemini add-on licenses are no longer needed for alpha access. Admins should carefully consider enabling alpha features, as support is limited and features may not be available to all users. End-users will gain access only if their admins enable it. A community page provides updates and support for alpha testers. The rollout starts April 22nd, 2025, for both Rapid and Scheduled Release domains. The update affects Business Starter, Standard, Plus, and Enterprise Standard, and Plus plans.
