Google has introduced new features to the Chrome Web Store that allow administrators to customize the experience for their users. Admins can now add company logos, custom welcome banners, and announcement banners. They can also curate collections of extensions for their users, including recommended and private extensions. A new collection of extensions displays all items that are allowlisted by IT administrators. Category controls allow admins to hide specific extension categories. The search experience has also been enhanced, with blocked item tags and a "Private items" filter. This update aims to improve the Chrome Web Store experience for enterprises, making it easier for admins to vet and control extensions and for end users to find relevant and approved extensions. The new features are available now for all Google Workspace customers with access to the Admin console. Admins can find the new settings in the Chrome section of the Admin console, while end users will see a tailored Chrome Web Store experience depending on their admin configuration. The update is available for all Google Workspace customers, including Chrome Enterprise and Education users.
