Dante Mayfair, Claridge’s, London W1: ‘Are chips ever worth £11? Probably not’ – restaurant review
Dante Mayfair has opened at Claridge’s, aiming to be the “living room of Mayfair.” The concept suggests a welcoming space for drinks and food, though it is not intended to be overly informal. Claridge’s itself has a history of frequent redecoration and repurposing of its spaces. The venue has previously hosted various culinary experiences, including Simon Rogan’s Fera and Aulis. It also saw the less successful tenure of Daniel Humm’s Davies and Brook. More recently, Claridge’s managed its own in-house British brasserie. The primary appeal of Claridge’s lies in its grand main hotel entrance. Dante Mayfair is envisioned as a place where guests can casually enjoy refreshments. The hotel intends to offer a comfortable yet sophisticated atmosphere. This rebranding seeks to elevate the hotel’s dining and social offerings.
