The Elastic DevRel team has released a newsletter blog covering various topics including the simplest way to get Elasticsearch and Kibana running locally, the Elastic AI Assistant with a private LLM, and the Vertex AI integration with Elasticsearch. To start Elasticsearch and Kibana locally, users can run a simple command with Docker, which generates a Docker Compose setup with the latest images and a random password. The Elastic AI Assistant now supports private LLMs, enhancing data privacy and security by keeping sensitive information in-house. The integration with Google Vertex AI allows for generating text embeddings and reranking documents retrieved from Elasticsearch. The ElasticON Tour, a one-day conference series, is also coming to various cities, including New York City, Munich, and Amsterdam.
