I was born in 1981 in the UK, which makes me a ‘Xennial’; the cohort who bridge the analogue and digital era we now increasingly inhabit. But the recent COVID-19 crisis seems to have extended that digital bridge backwards to my Gen X sister, Baby Boomer parents and even further to Silent Generation relatives. The constraints of isolation, combined with the convenience of digital services have overcome ingrained human behaviours, and there’s no going back.
