To the Editor Dr Ravensberg and colleagues evaluated levothyroxine discontinuation in older adults. Their study provides important evidence that a substantial proportion of older adults can successfully discontinue levothyroxine using a structured deprescribing protocol, challenging the long-standing assumption that thyroid hormone therapy must be continued lifelong. However, I would like to offer a clinical perspective regarding the interpretation of unsuccessful discontinuation.
