Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event unveiled several new products, including the iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, new Apple Watch models, and AirPods 5. The foldable iPhone Duo boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and is Apple's thinnest iPhone when open. It supports a new $79 USB-C Apple Pencil but lacks an Action Button. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max feature the A20 Pro 2nm chip and variable aperture cameras, with the Pro Max offering up to 45 hours of battery life. The iPhone 18 Pro includes manual aperture and shutter speed controls, alongside a feature to verify photo authenticity. New Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models were also announced, featuring upgraded health sensors and two-day battery life for the Ultra 4. AirPods 5 come standard with active noise cancellation, though a pricier variant is required for wireless charging. Apple also discussed upcoming software releases, including iOS 27. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max pre-order on September 12 and launch September 18, while the iPhone Duo pre-orders begin October 16. Apple increased prices on older iPhone models and discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro series.
