Evolving the Copilot experience in Microsoft Forms

Microsoft Forms has launched a significant Copilot upgrade integrating a Microsoft 365 Copilot chat experience. This new feature builds on existing Copilot familiarity, offering Forms-specific intelligence for creating, refining, and analyzing forms. Copilot will provide tailored suggestions, assist with settings, prepare forms for distribution, and transform responses into actionable insights within a chat pane. Users can access Copilot in Microsoft Forms by clicking an icon in the lower-right corner, which opens a chat pane automatically connected to their form. This allows Copilot to suggest improvements to form structure, identify missing questions, and help configure settings. It also enables bulk edits, such as changing question requirements or replacing placeholder text. Copilot can analyze form results deeply, providing clear insights and allowing users to ask follow-up questions for data summarization. Users can easily review and update form settings, including custom thank-you messages and close dates. The chat interface also supports generating survey topic ideas and configuring form elements. Basic branching logic can now be applied through the chat, though complex scenarios still require direct review. Existing Copilot features like "Draft with Copilot" and on-canvas tools remain unchanged. This enhanced Copilot in Forms is currently rolling out to users with Microsoft 365 commercial Copilot licenses.
