ExpressVPN adds a Fastest Location button and launches a new native Mac app

ExpressVPN is introducing a Fastest Location feature for Android, Mac, and iOS, aiming to automatically select the speediest VPN server. This new feature differs from the existing Smart Location, which considered various metrics beyond just speed. There is speculation that the change addresses user concerns about Smart Location choosing less-than-optimal servers. ExpressVPN is also launching a redesigned Mac app, built natively for MacOS using Project Catalyst. The older Mac app was a port from the iPad version, creating a phone-like experience on desktop. The new app offers a richer interface, utilizing screen space more effectively, similar to Proton VPN. This native design promises a better user experience compared to the previous iPad-derived application. Only further testing can prove if the algorithm has changed, not just the name.
