In Reply We appreciate the letter by Dr Meyerowitz about our recent Viewpoint. The FDA is obliged to grant marketing authorization for medical products if and only if it has substantial certainty that the benefits outweigh the risks. It does not have that for further COVID-19 boosters for healthy people younger than 65 years. That view is shared across the globe, where peer nations do not advise boosters in perpetuity for young, healthy people.
