Epic Games is making changes to Fortnite's battle passes to make progression more streamlined. Currently, XP earned in various modes does not contribute to special passes like Lego Fortnite and Fortnite Festival. Starting November 2nd, XP will be used to progress through the Music Pass, replacing festival points. On December 1st, the change will apply to the Lego Pass, and studs will be retired. Battle stars earned with XP in the main battle pass will also be removed on December 1st. Epic is transitioning Fortnite into a platform with various experiences, and these changes address growing pains with this transition. Future Music and Lego Passes will offer free and premium rewards, and users will be able to buy specific rewards directly. Epic will soon offer a way to buy all passes at once, rather than separate purchases. The changes come as the current Marvel-themed season is set to end, with a new live event and season, "Remix," teased to return to the Chapter 2 island. These updates aim to make Fortnite more accessible and user-friendly for players.
