Freezer smell

We are batch cooking ahead of having. Baby and putting food in freezer bags. All the food seems frozen, but the chest freezer we are keeping it in smells like the bolognase we've frozen. Is this a problem? Can frozen food release smells? submitted by /u/NQG91
