The Kubernetes SIG Network team has announced the general availability of Gateway API version 1.2.0, which includes new features, experimental additions, and breaking changes. The release introduces support for HTTPRoute timeouts, percentage-based mirroring, and additional backend TLS configuration. It also includes a new release process and updates to the project itself, such as the move of the gwctl CLI tool to its own repository and changes in maintainers.
