Google Workspace users with access to Gemini Advanced can now utilize Deep Research, a feature that explores complex topics and presents findings in a comprehensive report. Deep Research can be used for industry research, competitive research, customer research, and educational research, saving hours of work by browsing the web and analyzing information in real-time. Users can review and revise the proposed research plan, and the report can be exported to Google Docs and shared with colleagues. The report includes links to original sources, allowing users to dive deeper into the topic. Deep Research is currently available in Gemini Advanced on the web, starting in English, with support for the Gemini mobile app coming later. Users can choose from several models, including 1.5 Pro with Deep Research, 2.0 Flash, and experimental models. Admins do not have control over this feature, and end users can get started by toggling the model drop-down to "1.5 Pro with Deep Research" and entering their research question. The rollout pace is extended, starting on February 20, 2025, and availability is limited to specific Google Workspace editions and add-ons. Deep Research is available to users with Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and customers with the Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-on. Users can visit the Help Center to learn more about using the Gemini web app for in-depth research.
