Google Workspace Updates

Generate vocabulary lists using Gemini in Google Classroom

Since May last year, education institutions have been using Gemini for Google Workspace to enhance teaching and learning. Gemini offers various products and features, including the Gemini app, Learning Tools Interoperability, and integration with Google Classroom. To help educators save time and create engaging learning experiences, a new feature is being introduced to generate custom vocabulary lists with Gemini. This feature allows educators to create lists tailored to specific grade levels and topics, providing definitions, grammatical categories, and example sentences. The feature is accessible via the "Gemini Education" tab in Google Classroom. This update is important as it enables educators to create targeted vocabulary lists, empowering students to master language and deepen their understanding. Admins can learn more about pricing and discounts for Gemini Education add-ons, while end users can access the feature if assigned a license. To get started, educators can navigate to the Gemini Education tab, add a grade level and topic, review the generated list, and export it to a Google Doc. It's essential to review AI-generated content to ensure accuracy and refine it according to local policies. The feature is available for Google Workspace customers with Gemini Education and Education Premium add-ons.
