Parkinson’s disease has been epidemiologically linked to kidney function, but the extent of their shared genetic basis remains unclear. Here, the authors integrate genome-wide genetic correlation, pleiotropy and colocalisation analyses to identify shared loci and candidate pathways connecting Parkinson’s disease and kidney-related traits.
