GitHub Lança Novo Modelo de Sugestão de Código GPT-4o Copilot

The GitHub Copilot has rapidly evolved over the past two years, expanding its language support, improving its context understanding, and becoming available in popular IDEs like Visual Studio Code and JetBrains. In 2022, the GitHub Copilot for Individuals was launched, making the tool available to the entire tech community through a monthly subscription. Later, in 2024, GitHub made Copilot free. Throughout this journey, the AI models powering Copilot have become increasingly intelligent and sophisticated. The new GPT-4o Copilot model represents the latest leap forward. This model improves the code completion capabilities of GitHub Copilot, with features like faster suggestions, improved precision, and expanded language support for over 30 programming languages. The GPT-4o Copilot is optimized for real-world code and has a strong understanding of clean, idiomatic, and industry-standard coding practices. The new model is available to users of GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code and will soon be released for JetBrains IDEs. GitHub plans to make the GPT-4o Copilot the default model for all Copilot users in the near future. With this update, GitHub is pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI-powered code completion, which has the potential to make software development faster, easier, and more accessible than ever.
