GitLab Duo Agent Platform Public Beta: Next-gen AI orchestration and more
GitLab is building a future of software development where humans and AI collaborate, allowing developers to focus on complex problems while AI handles routine tasks. This future is being built through the GitLab Duo Agent Platform, a next-generation DevSecOps orchestration platform that enables asynchronous collaboration between developers and AI agents. The platform transforms the development workflow into dynamic collaboration, allowing specialized AI agents to work alongside developers on every stage of the software development lifecycle. The first public beta of the GitLab Duo Agent Platform has been launched, focusing on unlocking the IDE experience through the GitLab VS Code extension and JetBrains IDEs plug-in. The platform's unique position as an orchestration platform allows it to bring together project plans, code, test runs, security scans, compliance checks, and CI/CD configurations to power teams and orchestrate collaboration with AI agents. GitLab's knowledge graph provides rich context for AI agents, enabling them to make informed recommendations and take actions that adhere to organizational standards. The platform is evolving from AI features to agent orchestration, with powerful new AI features landing every month. Agents that mirror familiar team roles, such as software development, testing, and technical writing, are being introduced, and can be customized to meet the needs of organizations. Flows, which orchestrate complex agent tasks, are also being introduced, allowing for more complex workflows that can include multiple agents with pre-built instructions, steps, and actions for a given task.
