Global and regional cancer burden attributable to modifiable risk factors to inform prevention

Global cancer estimates across 185 countries show that 7.1 million new cancer cases were attributable to modifiable risk factors in 2022, with smoking, infections and alcohol consumption being the leading contributors to cancer burden.
