Google Brings New Video AI Features to Google Photos and YouTube Shorts

Google is introducing new AI-powered video editing tools to enhance both Google Photos and YouTube Shorts. Google Photos now features a photo-to-video function powered by Veo 2, creating short videos with subtle animations from existing photos. Users can select "Subtle movements" or "I'm feeling lucky" to add life to images. A "Remix" feature, coming soon, enables users to change photo styles with AI options like anime or 3D animation. Both tools are located in the new "Create" tab, and all AI-generated content includes a SynthID watermark. YouTube Shorts creators can now utilize the photo-to-video feature to convert camera roll pictures into short videos. This tool adds movement and animation to photos, similar to the Google Photos feature. New effects allow creators to transform doodles into images and selfies into unique videos for Shorts. These updates aim to simplify and enhance video creation on both platforms.
