Google is introducing two new features to its Lens technology. iPhone users can now draw, highlight, or tap on text and images to perform a visual search using Chrome or the Google app. This feature is similar to Circle to Search on Android, but with some limitations due to iOS constraints. The feature can be accessed by opening the three-dot menu and selecting "Search Screen with Google Lens" in Chrome or the Google app. In the future, a dedicated Lens shortcut will be added to the Chrome address bar. Additionally, Google is introducing AI Overviews, which will automatically provide explanations for unique or novel images without requiring a prompt. This feature will be rolled out to all English-language users in countries where AI Overviews are available. The update will first appear in the Google app for Android and iOS, and later on Chrome for desktop and mobile devices. AI Overviews will provide helpful information about the image, such as explaining a carbon vinyl wrap on a car's hood. The feature aims to save users the trouble of opening a new tab or saving a screenshot to find more information about an image.
