Google Workspace Updates

Google Voice now supports call delegation

Admins can now assign delegates to handle calls on behalf of other users, allowing them to answer and place calls, transfer calls, and listen to voicemail messages. This feature is helpful for busy professionals who delegate tasks to colleagues. The call delegation feature is critical for effectively managing communications and boosting productivity. It allows designated individuals to handle calls, freeing up executives' time and ensuring important communications are addressed promptly. In the future, the feature will be expanded to include access to call history, voicemail history, and inbox management. Admins can learn more about setting up call delegation in the Help Center. End users will be notified via email if they have been assigned a delegate and what actions the delegate can take on their behalf. The feature is being rolled out gradually over 15 days, starting on February 25, 2025, for Rapid and Scheduled Release domains. The call delegation feature is available for Google Workspace customers with a Google Voice Standard and Premier subscription. The feature is a top request from customers and is expected to improve communication management and productivity.
