Google Workspace Updates Weekly Recap - May 9, 2025

Google Workspace is introducing several new features, including rich text formatting on the web, Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview, and Audio Overview in 45 additional languages. Rich text formatting allows users to customize their notes with bolding, underlining, and italicizing. Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview improves the execution of complex tasks and response accuracy. Audio Overview generates podcast-style conversations based on documents and reports. Additionally, Gemini app conversation history admin settings can be pre-configured before they take effect. Gmail will soon stop supporting the 3DES encryption cipher for incoming SMTP connections. Granular OAuth consent is rolling out for Google Workspace add-ons built using HTTP endpoints. Custom video clips can be generated in Google Vids with Veo 2, and Gemini Live supports voice conversations for Google Workspace users. The Gemini app reporting is now available for all Google Workspace for Education customers. Finally, several features have completed their rollouts to Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains.
