Google's NotebookLM has introduced a new feature called "Discover sources" that allows users to find and curate relevant sources from the web by simply describing a topic. This feature eliminates the need to manually upload documents, making it easier to gather information on a specific subject. When users tap the Discover button, NotebookLM brings back a curated collection of relevant sources from the web, which can be added to their notebook with a single click. This feature is a fast and easy way to grasp a new concept or gather essential reading on a topic. NotebookLM can still ingest various file types, including PDFs, websites, YouTube videos, and Google Docs, and summarize, transcribe, or convert them into FAQs and study guides. The "Discover sources" feature helps incorporate information that users may not have saved. The imported sources stay within the notebook, allowing users to read the original document, ask questions, or apply other NotebookLM features. Google started rolling out this feature on Wednesday, and it should be available to all users within a week or so. Google assures users that NotebookLM does not use personal data, including source uploads and queries, for training purposes. Additionally, NotebookLM features an "I'm Feeling Curious" button that generates sources on a random topic, similar to Google's iconic "I'm feeling lucky" search button.
