Graham Breaks With Trump Over Iran Strike Effectiveness: 'I Don't Know Where The Enriched Uranium Is'

After a classified Senate briefing, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham expressed concerns that the problem of Iran's nuclear program is not over despite the Trump-ordered B-2 bomber strikes. Graham questioned whether the strikes had obliterated Iran's desire to have a nuclear weapon, citing the unknown location of 900 pounds of enriched uranium. He acknowledged that the targeted sites were severely damaged but emphasized that the problem persists. The White House claims the uranium was at Fordo, while others suggest it was at Natanz or Isfahan, and some experts believe it has been dispersed. Democratic Senators Chris Murphy and Mark Warner also expressed skepticism after the briefing, with Murphy stating that the president was misleading the public and that the program was not obliterated. Murphy added that knowledge and expertise cannot be bombed out of existence, and that Iran still has the capability to produce nuclear weapons. Israel claims to have assassinated 14 Iranian nuclear scientists during the recent bombing and sabotage operations. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer criticized the lack of a coherent strategy to prevent Iran from attaining a nuclear weapon. Graham's comments may not sit well with President Trump, but they are in line with skepticism expressed by Fox News and other conservative and independent outlets.
