Halliday promises its smart wayfarers have a ‘proactive’ AI assistant inside

Halliday unveiled smart glasses at CES 2025, boasting advanced features. The glasses utilize a waveguide display projecting a 3.5-inch screen, visible even in bright light, while remaining discreet. Weighing only 35 grams, they offer eight hours of battery life. A proactive AI assistant anticipates user needs, summarizing conversations and responding to prompts. The glasses feature touch-sensitive sides and a bundled trackpad ring for control. Functionality includes translation, navigation, music playback, and acting as a hidden teleprompter. Privacy implications of the AI assistant are a concern. Pre-orders start at the end of CES, with shipping before March 2025, priced between $399 and $499. The success of Halliday's promises remains to be seen. The glasses represent a significant advancement in smart glass technology, though real-world performance is yet to be determined.
