HBO is making a Baldur's Gate 3 TV show

Craig Mazin, co-creator of *The Last of Us*, is developing an HBO series based on the video game *Baldur's Gate 3*. The series, simply titled *Baldur's Gate*, will continue the story from the game's ending. Mazin will have complete creative control, acting as co-creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer. He has expressed his enthusiasm and respect for the source material, which is based on Dungeons & Dragons. The game's developer, Larian Studios, is not involved in the series' production. Larian's CEO, Swen Vincke, is fully supportive of the project. Mazin is a huge fan of the game with over 1000 hours played. The show will feature both familiar and new characters, though plot details remain under wraps. With no *Baldur's Gate 4* game planned, the series has the freedom to create its own story. Wizards of the Coast will provide a consultant to help remain faithful to the DnD lore.
