Here’s the first real look at the Retroid Pocket 6 running PS2 games

The Retroid Pocket 6, a gaming handheld, has completed production and is set to begin shipping soon. The final product shots of the device in black and orange have been revealed, along with gameplay videos showcasing its ability to emulate PlayStation 2 games. The Retroid Pocket 6 is a great option for those looking to play classic Nintendo or PlayStation titles, as it can emulate games up to Nintendo Switch and PS2. Initially, the device received criticism for its design, prompting Retroid to rework it and add an option for customers to choose between a D-pad or thumbstick. The company faced further challenges due to a memory shortage, which led to the early bird pricing being cut short. As a result, the device's price was increased from $209 to $229, with the internal specs remaining the same, including a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and up to 12GB of memory. The Retroid Pocket 6 also features up to 256GB of storage, which can be expanded with a TF card slot. Despite the setbacks, Retroid is ready to start shipping the device, with the first batch of preorders expected to ship in January. The second batch of preorders is still available on the company's website, with an expected shipping date of March. Overall, the Retroid Pocket 6 is poised to enter the retro gaming handheld market, offering a unique option for fans of classic games.
