Apple has integrated Apple Intelligence into the Shortcuts app in iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe. Users can now leverage Apple's AI models for various tasks, including summarizing, generating recipes, and answering questions within Shortcuts. Several pre-programmed Shortcuts are available in the Gallery, providing ready-made examples. These pre-programmed shortcuts cover tasks like summarizing PDFs, creating haikus, and finding information. Users can also create custom shortcuts incorporating Apple's AI models. When creating a Shortcut, users can select from on-device models, cloud models using Private Cloud Compute, or even ChatGPT. The Shortcuts app also offers Writing Tools for text adjustments. Users input their desired tasks through prompts, working within the model's capabilities and integrating data from other apps. AI models can be seamlessly incorporated into any custom Shortcut. The new Shortcuts features include the ability to use Visual Intelligence and Image Playground. This enhanced Shortcuts functionality is currently in beta testing, and Apple will be continuously improving the app throughout the beta phase.
