How to follow live sports scores on your iPhone lockscreen

Apple introduced Live Activities in iOS 16, allowing apps to display real-time information on the lockscreen. This feature is particularly useful for sports scores, enabling users to keep track of games without fully committing their attention. To enable Live Activities, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode, enter your passcode, and toggle Live Activities on. Ensure Live Activities is enabled by checking in the Settings menu. With iOS 18, Apple made it possible to follow any league or game featured in its Sports app using Live Activities. To follow games, download the Apple Sports app, tap the hamburger menu, and search for teams and leagues to follow. Once followed, relevant games will appear in the Yesterday, Today, and Upcoming tabs on the app's homescreen. Users can toggle Live Activities on and off for each team, and scores will appear in the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, or newer devices. Alternatively, users can follow games through the Apple TV app, which allows them to follow MLB, NBA, and Premier League games without a paid subscription. By following these steps, users can easily keep track of live sports scores on their iPhone lockscreen.
