Nintendo announced the launch details for its next-generation console, the Switch 2, during a recent Nintendo Direct. Pre-orders for the Switch 2 will commence on April 9th in North America, with a retail price of $450. The console is slated for a wide release on June 5th, available at major retailers like Amazon and Best Buy. A bundle featuring the Switch 2 and the new Mario Kart World game will be available for $500. Pre-ordering directly from Nintendo has specific conditions, including being 18+ and having a Nintendo account. Priority for pre-order invitations will go to Nintendo Switch Online members with at least 12 months of paid membership and 50 gameplay hours. The Switch 2 features a larger 7.9-inch LCD screen, new Joy-Con 2 controllers with additional features, and improved internal speakers. The console offers 4K gaming when docked, a built-in fan for cooling, and 256GB of storage. Various accessories, such as a new camera and Pro Controller, will be sold separately.
