How to use the new Apple Cash Tap to Cash feature in iOS 18

iPhone and Apple Watch users can now use Tap to Cash to send or receive money in person using Apple Cash. To use this feature, both parties must have an iPhone with iOS 18 or an Apple Watch with watchOS 11, as well as a verified Apple Cash account. Transactions are private, meaning phone numbers and email addresses are not shared. The maximum amount that can be sent or received per seven-day period is $2,000, with a minimum of $1. Apple Cash is currently only available in the US. To use Tap to Cash on an iPhone, open the Wallet app, select the Apple Cash card, and choose "Send or Request" followed by "Tap to Cash." Enter the desired amount and confirm the payment by double-clicking the side button. Hold the iPhone close to the recipient's iPhone or Apple Watch to complete the transaction. The process is similar on an Apple Watch, with users opening the Wallet app, selecting the Apple Cash card, and following the prompts to initiate the transaction. Transactions can be checked in the Wallet app under "Latest Transactions" with a Tap to Cash icon.
