Signify, the parent company of Hue, launched its first video doorbell, the Hue Secure. It boasts a high-resolution 2K fisheye camera, exceeding some competitors. Unlike many competitors, it offers a free 24-hour video history. Compatibility includes Google Home and Samsung SmartThings, with Apple Home support coming later and Matter support this fall. A unique feature is its integration with Hue smart lights, triggering them upon motion detection. A separate Hue Smart Chime ($60) is needed for audible alerts; no third-party chime compatibility is currently available. The Hue Secure will launch in October for $170 in North America, Europe, and the UK. Signify also announced a new 2K wired camera for Europe. The new wired camera will cost €180 or €200 with a stand, and US availability is unconfirmed.
