Humility: An Essential Value

Humility is a crucial value for designers, fostering fulfillment, growth, connection, and engagement. Justin's journey as a designer highlights the importance of humility and curiosity in the evolving digital landscape. He embraced the challenges of the "Wild West" era of web design, exploring creativity within the constraints of the time. Inspired by the pixel art of desktop icons, he created unique and expressive designs within the limitations of the 32x32 pixel grid and 256-color palette. Justin's designs gained recognition, but his pursuit of external validation led to stagnation and a loss of touch with his core values. Thanks to feedback from peers, he recognized his toxic behavior and underwent a transformative course correction, reconnecting with his passion for design and humility. The Large Hadron Collider project showcased Justin's continued growth, demonstrating how humility and collaboration can lead to innovative and impactful designs that transcend medium-specific considerations.
