I planned to make falafel this evening, bit I forgot to soak the broad beans, so they'll only have 8 to 9 hours. They are split and skinless which I thought might speed up the soaking process and I've used hot water (50C), though that will cool down fairly quick. Does anyone have experience and is able to say if this will be enough? Is there something else I should.do like replace the water with fresh hot or warm water? Boiling is a no-no apparently, because it ruins the texture of the falafel. We have fairly hard water if it's relevant. submitted by /u/hyunrivet
