Improve operational efficiency with Cross-Location Open Shifts
Microsoft Shifts app has introduced a cross-location shifts feature that allows businesses to manage staffing across multiple locations more efficiently. This feature is currently in public preview and enables managers to post open shifts that employees from other locations can request. Managers will be notified when employees from other locations request shifts and can approve or decline these requests. Employees can view open shifts at other sites and submit a request to pick up the shift, which will appear in their schedule once approved. To enable cross-location open shifts, IT admins must follow specific steps outlined on Microsoft Learn. Managers and workers can learn more about using this feature on Microsoft Support. Future updates include allowing managers to opt in for approval when working at other locations and viewing the location name in the team schedule. This feature aims to optimize staffing, enhance worker flexibility, and improve operational efficiency. Feedback on this feature is encouraged through a brief survey.
