In vitro models have the potential to aid in understanding diseases. Here, the authors report on a multi-organ-on-a-chip platform that shows reduced cancer cell invasion into cardiac tissue compared with liver tissue, enabling analyses to uncover the mechanisms of cardiac resistance to metastasis.
