To the Editor Dr Rudman Spergel and colleagues presented findings from a phase 3 trial of the mRNA-1083 multicomponent vaccine in adults aged 50 years or older, reporting robust immunogenicity and acceptable tolerability. However, we are concerned that the continued inclusion of the B/Yamagata influenza strain—despite its global disappearance—risks propagating outdated composition standards.
