Instagram Finally Comes to iPad

Instagram has finally released a dedicated app for the iPad, available starting today. The new iPad app prioritizes Reels, opening directly to the Reels feed. Stories are accessible at the top of the interface, alongside messaging features. A new "Following" tab offers filtering options for "All," "Friends," and "Latest" content. "All" shows recommended posts and reels from followed accounts, while "Friends" adds accounts that follow you back. "Latest" displays a chronological feed of posts and reels from followed accounts. The design leverages the larger iPad screen for easier navigation and access to more features. Users can view messages and notifications simultaneously in a split-screen layout. When watching Reels, users can expand comments without interrupting the full-screen video. The Instagram for iPad app is rolling out now for devices running iPadOS 15.1 or later.
