The Spring AI Community GitHub organization was launched to foster community-driven Spring AI projects. It provides a platform for developers to contribute and incubate new ideas that the core Spring AI team cannot easily manage. This independent organization ensures these valuable projects are discovered and nurtured. The community is led by Sergi Almar, Adib Saikali, and Thomas Vitale, who oversee a lightweight governance model. Current projects fall into two categories: Production and Incubating. Production projects include Moonshot, a Java client for Moonshot AI, and QianFan, an integration with Baidu's AI platform. Incubating projects span areas like Spring AI Agents, benchmarking, MCP protocol support, Vaadin UI components, and a web-based playground. The governance prioritizes project autonomy and rapid decision-making, with contributors retaining IP ownership. Developers are encouraged to propose new projects, explore existing ones, and contribute code or documentation. The community offers resources like a portal, GitHub organization, and governance model details. A new website at springaicommunity.mintlify.app is now available.
