Apple has released iOS 26.4.1, a minor update for iPhones 11 and newer. The update addresses a bug that impacted iCloud syncing in certain applications. Additionally, Stolen Device Protection will now be automatically enabled for iPhones updating from iOS 26.4 to iOS 26.4.1, particularly for workplace-managed devices. This security feature, introduced in iOS 17.3, provides enhanced protection if a device is stolen and the passcode is known. It requires Face ID or Touch ID for sensitive actions, preventing quick passcode-based access. These actions include viewing stored passwords, applying for an Apple Card, or erasing iPhone content. For highly sensitive operations like changing an Apple ID password, a one-hour security delay is implemented after biometric authentication. However, this delay is waived in familiar locations like home or work. Previously, Stolen Device Protection was off by default. Users can manually enable it in Settings. This update aims to bolster iPhone security against theft.
