iOS 26.6.1 and macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 Fix Nearly 30 Security Vulnerabilities
Apple has released iOS 26.6.1, iPadOS 26.6.1, and macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 to address nearly 30 security flaws. This marks Apple's third security update in three weeks, indicating an accelerated release cycle influenced by AI-driven bug discovery. The new software incorporates security fixes previously present in beta versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate. Key vulnerabilities patched include an audio bug for sensitive data leakage, an image vulnerability enabling arbitrary code execution, and multiple kernel and WebKit flaws causing memory corruption or crashes. Notably, 21 of the 29 identified vulnerabilities are WebKit-related, with nine attributed to OpenAI Codex Security. An additional fix on iOS addresses a telephony bug that could allow privileged network attackers to intercept traffic by bypassing IPSec. While no active exploitation of these vulnerabilities is known, Apple strongly advises immediate updates. Public disclosure of these flaws increases the risk for devices running older software. Older devices unable to run the latest OS versions received iOS 18.7.10 and iPadOS 18.7.10 updates. Updates are accessible through the Settings app under General, then Software Update.
