iOS 26 Liquid Glass Design Copied by Android Smartphone Maker
Vivo has introduced its latest operating system, OriginOS 6, which draws significant design inspiration from Apple's "Liquid Glass" aesthetic. The new OS features rounded buttons, translucent glass-like elements, and a visual style highly reminiscent of iOS. Comparisons include a Liquid Glass clock, a similar Control Center, squircle app icons, and translucent folders. Notifications and wallpapers also mimic Apple's dynamic "Spatial Scenes" with 2D to 3D effects. Vivo describes the user experience as fluid and effortless, emphasizing smooth motion. While Vivo is a global smartphone manufacturer, its devices are primarily sold in markets like China and India. Most Vivo phones are not readily available in the United States. However, the company recently gained certification for the Vivo X300 FE, signaling a potential U.S. market entry. This update marks a notable instance of a Chinese manufacturer adopting design elements from a major Western competitor. The visual similarities are so pronounced that it can be difficult to distinguish OriginOS 6 from iOS at first glance.
