iOS 27 Makes the Shortcuts App Much Less Intimidating
The iOS 17 Shortcuts app is now more accessible thanks to Apple Intelligence integration. Users can create shortcuts by simply describing their desired action in natural language. The app then identifies the necessary actions and builds the shortcut automatically. Multiple parameters can be included in the description for complex tasks. After creation, shortcuts can be tested and refined through further natural language descriptions. For advanced customization, a manual editing interface is available, especially since Apple Intelligence is still in beta. New automation triggers include receiving notifications and capturing screenshots. The app also introduces new actions for Notes, Messages, Photos, and Reminders. Improved Apple Intelligence models can now access world knowledge and search the web for information. Shortcuts can also store and update data for tasks like list management. Automation triggers are now integrated into the general shortcut actions. This enhanced shortcut creation feature is available on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. However, it requires devices that support Apple Intelligence and is available in several languages.
