iPhone 18 Pro Aperture Control Goes Fully Manual in Halide 3.2
Halide Mark III has been updated to version 3.2, specifically for the iPhone 18 Pro. This update enhances user control over the iPhone 18 Pro's new variable aperture camera system. While the stock Camera app offers a limited four-stop aperture range, Halide 3.2 allows users to select any f-stop within the camera's full capability. The app provides two aperture control styles: Aperture Priority and full Manual mode. Aperture Priority lets users set the f-stop, while the app manages shutter speed and ISO. Manual mode grants complete control over f-stop, shutter speed, and ISO, including manual ISO settings absent in the stock app. Halide is considering adding f-stop presets in future updates. The update also introduces two new film simulations: Dawn and Quicksilver. Dawn offers warm tones with gentle shadows and subtle cool colors. Quicksilver provides high contrast and muted colors, simulating a silver-retention process. Additionally, Halide 3.2 introduces a new 16:9 aspect ratio shooting mode for wider framing. The app is available for purchase on the App Store with a one-time fee or an annual subscription.
